Master Marine Surveyor (MMS) is the cornerstone of the Maritime Inspection Business.  For over 30 years, Navtech has provided a process for experienced mariners to utilize and monetize their knowledge  for a professional, full or part time, first, second, or even third career.  If you would like to test yourself  on prior knowledge, there are two locations to take a free learning style quiz (5 questions) which is located at the center of our website at navsurvey.com. Send self-ratings on an email.  For a more extensive review of your prior knowledge, please click on the icon at the top of the website at navsurvey.com and complete the 20 question online test. Send us your results via scan, attachment, or copy/paste, for feedback. Successful completion will earn you an online Navtech X diploma.

Master Marine Surveyor whether book ($895) or online  ($695) consists of completing the

• Recreational and Small Commercial Course exam (Multiple Choice 100 questions)*
• USSurveyors narrative short answer test (Length can vary). 
• Passing score is 90% for the course exam and Pass/Fail 100% for the USSurveyors exam. Unlimited retakes are allowed.
• Online surveyor report in Open Word for your formatting
• Correspondence book track:  two course volumes, one membership book     $895.
• Online track:  Online Manual and resource links and one membership book. $695.

Completion consists of all curriculum review whether enrolled in the nationally recognized correspondence books and exams, or using our newly developed online process. Both offer Forms and  Filled In Forms donated by our member surveyors. In fact,  for both tracks, those two sections are the most popular inside the correspondence book training. The online track offers  limited examples. The track you choose is dependent upon learning style and personal professional deadlines.
Because your certification is dependent upon your prior experience and available time

• No deadlines, however exams must be completed within 1 year or curriculum update charge is applied.
• No modules to keep track of.
• No additional fees.
• Exams sent with the materials. Passing score is 90%. Open book.  No fee retakes.
• Online Links and Resources for both tracks.
• Immediate help and guidance to your questions via text, email, or telephone.
• Apprenticeship: Work with one of our qualified surveyors for any length of time. We can offer their names once exams passed. Because you are already knowledgeable and experienced, we do not require an apprenticeship.   However, two surveys must be completed within the first 12 months of enrolling.
• Website: Posting is required.  You may post to three states. Only active surveyors may use our logos, remain on website, and receive industry support.  Renewals are sent between October and December of each year for January 1 deadlines.  Non renewals are removed.
• Insurances:  Depending on the location /types of inspections, you may need insurance.  Please call.
